Job Opportunity: Technical Editor

Posted March 5, 2025

CTC & Associates LLC (ctcandassociates.com) is a consulting firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with 14 employees, all work-from-home. CTC provides research and communication services exclusively to clients in the transportation sector. More than 90% of our client base is composed of state departments of transportation. Current clients include the states of California, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, Utah and Vermont.

CTC is in need of assistance with technical editing for research synthesis reports. These small-scale research projects involve the collection, summary and synthesis of information on nearly every topic related to highway transportation. Examples of synthesis reports may be found at ctcandassociates.com/information-services. The sources of information for these reports typically include online research and surveys of government employees.

CTC hopes to find an experienced editor for this position.

This person will take on all aspects of revising, copyediting and proofreading draft synthesis reports for appropriateness of content, clarity of presentation and consistency of format. Ideally this person will also take on the additional duties of conducting and writing these synthesis reports based on CTC’s need.

The right person for this position will have a sharp eye for detail and — though CTC will provide training and ongoing support — will be a natural at deducing guidelines from product examples. This person will also be a critical judge of information, a nuanced thinker and a naturally curious learner. They will also understand how to conduct themselves according to the highest professional standards in a consulting environment, with attention to competing needs and deadlines.
