Bridge inspectors on scaffolding during maintenanceReadable research summaries
CTC designs and produces clear, plain-English summaries of research results in one- or two-page formats tailored to the needs of each customer. Aimed at practitioners, managers and stakeholders, these short summaries use story-telling narrative, photos, and quotes from the investigator and project manager to communicate the reason for the research and its value to the department. Research impact statements
What effects are your research projects having on your organization’s practices? How are research results finding their way into specifications and agency culture? CTC traces the impacts of research from concept to implementation, detailing the paths of innovation. We produce short Impacts on Practice pieces and program-wide evaluations of how research is making a difference. See examples

Peer exchanges
CTC assists with planning, facilitating and documenting peer exchange conferences that help agencies learn from the practices and experiences of others. This low-cost tech transfer mechanism uses face-to-face discussions and presentations to quickly and effectively bring new information into an organization. We have supported FHWA-required research program peer exchanges, as well as exchanges for various program areas within the DOT. See examples
